A selfie is convenient, but holding the camera also chooses your distance and occupies one hand. Try giving the phone a fixed position first. You can step into the frame, leave room around your subject and pay attention to the picture instead of your grip.

For a portrait, set up on a stable surface and use your phone’s timer. Frame a little wider than you think you need. For a product, start with a simple background and move the light or subject until reflections look intentional.
The handheld position offers another way to hold the phone. It is still your job to keep movement controlled; this is a support, not a motorized gimbal.
Try this: photograph the same subject from three camera positions. Choose the composition before choosing an edit.

Match the mount to your exact phone and case. A thick case or a phone without the required magnetic interface may need a compatible case or adapter ring. Check what the selected package includes before ordering.
ULANZI lists a 450 g maximum load and describes the MA38 as a stand without wireless charging. Verify those limits for the version you buy. Test the hold close to a safe surface before leaving the phone unattended, especially in a hanging or magnetic setup.
Need a camera at standing eye level? Check whether a separate full-size tripod makes more sense for your space.
